Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data I collect on robisnewobsession.com, why, and what you can do about it. I keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email me.

What I collect and why

Email signups. When you sign up for the weekly email, a free resource or a "Notify me" alert, I collect your email address (and your first name if you give it), the form you used and tags that say what you signed up for. I use this to send you what you asked for and my weekly email. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR article 6(1)(a)). You confirm your signup by clicking the link in the first email, and you can unsubscribe in one click at the bottom of every email.

Purchases. Products are sold through Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record: Gumroad takes the payment, charges VAT, issues the receipt and delivers the files. Gumroad processes your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. Gumroad shares your name, email and order details with me so I can support you. Legal basis: performance of a contract (article 6(1)(b)).

Emails you send me. If you email me, I keep the conversation to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in replying (article 6(1)(f)).

Analytics. I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites and does not build a profile of you. It records things like the page, the referring site, the country and the browser type, in aggregate. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding which pages are useful (article 6(1)(f)).

Server logs and security. The site runs on Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address. The signup form also uses your IP address for a few minutes to stop spam (rate limiting). Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a secure site (article 6(1)(f)).

I do not sell your data and I do not use it for advertising.

Cookies

This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. If you log in to the site editor (only I can), a necessary session cookie is used. YouTube videos are only loaded from youtube-nocookie.com after you click play; from then on YouTube's own policy applies. If I ever add something that sets non essential cookies, I will ask for your consent first.

Who processes your data

Transfers outside the EU are covered by the EU US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or by Standard Contractual Clauses. CHECK Confirm each provider's current transfer mechanism.

Affiliate links on the My Setup page take you to other shops (for example Amazon). Those shops may set their own cookies under their own policies.

How long I keep it

• Email list: until you unsubscribe, then removed or anonymised within CHECK 30 days.
• Purchase records: as long as Romanian tax and accounting law requires, usually 10 years. CHECK Confirm with your accountant.
• Emails with me: up to CHECK 2 years after the last message.
• Analytics: aggregate data only, kept by Cloudflare under its retention rules.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to processing, restrict it, and withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect what happened before). Email me and I will reply within one month.

You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro), or the authority in your own EU country.

Changes

If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top. Big changes will also be announced in the weekly email.
